A board for your shallow-water sessions

If you want to slide over shallow water and practise flatland board tricks, this category brings together skimboards for that use. Suitable shallow-water areas and skim pools give you space for spins, switch riding and freestyle movements.

Outline, size and grip surface influence the platform under your feet and how the board responds. The skimboards here are intended for flatland sessions rather than wave riding.

Detailed information is in the product descriptions. If you need more details, ask us in the support chat or email us via our contact page.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Your skimboard
questions.

Flow or Slash, size and grip — find the right board for your next shallow-water session.

Flow or Slash — what is the difference?

Flow has a rounded, symmetrical outline for a smooth, predictable feel in both directions. Slash has more pronounced sidecuts for a more responsive feel during turns and technical tricks. Choose Flow for an easy-going all-round shape, or Slash if you prefer more active edge-to-edge control.

Which model is a good choice for a beginner?

Flow’s stable, rounded outline makes it a useful starting point for learning board control, slides and spins. Choose the right size for your weight and start in suitable shallow water. Slash is an alternative if you prefer a more responsive shape as you develop your riding.

Which size should I choose — 87 or 101?

Size S is 87 × 41 cm and is recommended for riders below 45 kg (99 lb). Size M is 101 × 48 cm and is recommended for riders above 45 kg. This is a size-selection guide, not a maximum weight limit. Around 45 kg or unsure? Ask us before choosing.

Diamond grip or EVA foam — which boards have which?

Abstract and Octopus models have a diamond-textured top for grip when wet. Lightning models have a soft EVA foam top for cushioning and traction. Both provide built-in grip; additional traction pads are not required for the intended setup.

Are these boards for flatland skimboarding or wave riding?

Flow and Slash are designed for shallow water, wet beaches, skim pools and flatland freestyle. They are not designed for wave riding and are not flotation devices. Choose a suitable riding area and follow the board’s instructions.

What are the boards made from, and what do the PU edges do?

The construction combines an ash and poplar wood core with fiberglass reinforcement above and below it, PU sidewalls and a FlowSlick base. The sidewalls help protect the edges from impacts and chipping, while the smooth base is designed for sliding. The board can still be damaged, so avoid sharp debris and inspect it before riding.

Can I ride barefoot or in water shoes?

Yes. The diamond-textured and EVA tops are designed for use barefoot or with water shoes. Choose footwear appropriate to your riding area, keep the grip surface clean and check the area for sharp objects before each session.

Do you ship internationally, and where can I check returns?

Yes, we ship internationally from Poland. Check shipping rates and delivery times for your destination and our warranty and returns information. If you need help choosing Flow, Slash or a size, contact the Switch team before ordering.
